2001 Graduate of Cherokee High School

2005 Graduate of Tusculum College with Bachelor of Arts in Elementary Education

2013 Graduate of Union College with Master of Arts in Educational Leadership

I began working in education as an assistant in Special Education at Volunteer High School in 2005. From there I moved on to teach 5th Grade Social Studies at Hawkins Elementary and K-8 Art at Bulls Gap School. In 2007 I began teaching 3rd Grade at Hawkins Elementary School where I taught all subjects, and spent the next eleven years teaching 3rd grade. This is my first year at RCS and I couldn't be more happier to call it home.

I have made Rogersville home my entire life. I attended RCS as a student, and I am now beyond blessed to call it home once again. I attended Cherokee High School and graduated in 2001. I then went to Tusculum College as a walk on to play College Golf. I always knew that I wanted to work with kids, but it was in 2002 that I began to realize the calling on my life to become a teacher. In the summer of 2005, I married my high school sweetheart, and then began my career as an educator. My wife and I have two boys and live on a small farm where we raise cattle, pigs, and chickens. When I have spare time I enjoy playing golf, camping with my kids, hunting, fishing, and a good baseball game.

I am very excited about the opportunity to be your child's Math and Science teacher.  The longer I teach the more I realize that elementary math is what excites me as an educator. My philosophy on education is simple. Not every child may learn the same, but while they are in my class I believe it is my duty as a teacher to incorporate ideas that interest them.
