RCS Girls' Cross Country Wins Class A Sectional

RCS Girls Cross Country team walked away as TMSAA Class A Sectional Champions. Medaling and receiving All Region accolades both with career PRs, were Kenady Deal finishing 2nd and Elizabeth Coward finishing 3rd. Lilla Harrell also garnered All Region accolades with a career PR finishing 8th. Brooke Nelson finished 11th with a career PR dipping into the 14s for the first time. While, Elin Bryan finished strong in the 14th spot with a career PR as well. Mariam El Kammash made a big impact for our team coming in at 21st.

On the boys side, two runners  qualified individually for the TMSAA XC State Championships. Our number one runner, Kaleb Turner ran the strongest race of his career missing out on the top spot by the slightest of margins 11:37:23 for the number 1 runner and 11:37:25 for Turner. Also qualifying for state individually is our most improved athlete Brayden Brown. Brown posted a career PR while receiving All Region accolades coming in 9th.

Isaac Bryan was our number three runner finishing strong with a career PR dipping into the 14s. Rounding out our scoring was Matt Kirkpatrick and Will Phillips. Kirkpatrick had a career PR of over a minute. He really stepped up, helping to define TEAM. Phillips bested his last year’s performance by over three minutes producing a huge career PR.

Both the girls' team and boys' team qualifiers Turner and Brown will compete at the TMSAA XC State Championships on October 1st in Clarksville.
