7th Grader Kenady Deal Scores 1000th Career Point

Shattering a 34-year-old record of 740 career points set in 1990 by former RCS standout Tena Kincaid, Kenady Deal scored her 1000th career point in yesterday's Section 1 semifinal win over Hampton. While moving atop the career points list is itself a historic feat, Deal's accomplishment is even more exceptional in that she is the first student in school history to have achieved this milestone and is only in the 7th grade!

Kenady knew she might be getting close to the milestone, but was unsure of just how close she was until after the game.

"I set that goal for myself last year to beat it."

Following the game, Deal was presented with a commemorative ball recognizing this achievement. Congratulations to Kenady!
