RCS Track Makes Epic Showing at State Track Championships

RCS sent multiple athletes to the podium in Saturday's TMSAA Class A Track Championship Meet held at Austin Peay State University in Clarksville, including two championship wins in Girls' Discus and Girls' 4x400m Relay.

8th Grader Emma Stipes walked away as Class A State Discus Champion while 7th Graders Rylee Sivert, Anna Mae Boyd, Lilla Harrell, and Kenady Deal finished as champions in the 4x400m Relay. 7th grader Lilla Harrell also finished as State Runner-up in the 800m.

Additional RCS students who finished as All-State include Rylee Sivert (3rd Place 400m), 8th grader Brayden Brown (4th Place 800m), 7th Grader Zander Harris (5th Place 800m), 8th grader Aaron Munsey-Cooke (6th Place Discus), Emma Stipes (7th Place Shot), Brayden Brown (7th Place 1600m).

Despite only having 8 athletes, RCS Girls missed State Runner-up by only 2 points, finishing 3rd out of 46 teams! With only 5 athletes competing, the boys finished 13th out of 45 times.

Other standout performances include:

Elin Bryan was seeded 12th & finished 10th in the 1600m

Evan Laster was seeded 16th & finished 11th in the 110m hurdles

Evan Laster, Zander Harris, Chance Pearson, & Brayden Brown finished 11th in the 4x400m.

Karlie Gray, Harlen Hayes, Anna Mae Boyd, & Rylee Sivert finished 12th in the 4x200m.

Evan Laster finished 14th in disc.
