Increased community spread forces RCS to remain virtual through the end of Christmas Break.
The COVID-19 pandemic has presented school communities with previously unimaginable challenges. At the conclusion of 2019-2020 school year, our school staff set about planning how to safely and effectively navigate these challenges. Building on lessons learned from our sudden shift to virtual instruction last Spring, parent feedback, and guidance from state and local officials, RCS developed both its School Reopening Plan and Continuous Learning Plan (CLP). Our Guiding Principles influenced the development of these plans and continue to affect our decisions in response to not only the threat of COVID in our area, but also in pursuing our goal to effectively educate our students.
Beginning November 16, 2020, K-2 students return in AA/BB hybrid mode. 3-8 students continue Virtual Instruction. Pre-K will resume its Morning/Afternoon Group schedule.
RCS returns to full virtual learning for the next two weeks.
Rises in COVID cases force RCS back into Phase Red instruction.
Changing instructional program from Virtual Only to In-Person or vice versa, coming up soon.
As of November 30, 2020,
- All students will attend virtually.
- Christmas Break begins December 18 at 11:30 a.m.
- Return to school date is set for Jaunuary 5, 2020.
