RCS opened in Area 3 play Monday night in solid wins over Surgoinsville Middle in JV Boys, Varsity Girls, and Varsity Boys action.

8th grader Kenady Deal led the Lady Warriors with 22 points in their win. The Lady Warriors were dominant from inside the paint, finishing 16-26 on twos. Molli Stuffle, Rylee Sivert, Deal, and Karlie Gray each hit multiple three-pointers for Rogersville City Lady Warriors. The team shot 19-36 (53%) from beyond the arc. Rogersville City Lady Warriors passed the ball well with 27 assists on 35 made baskets. Deal led the team with seven assists. Rogersville City Lady Warriors swiped 22 steals in the game. Deal led the team with six steals. Gray collected five boards to lead Rogersville City Lady Warriors on the glass. Stuffle (20 points), Sivert (17 points), Gray (15 points), Tinsley Gladson (9 points), Carter Thurman (4 points), Harlen Hayes (3 points), Elin Bryan (2 points), and Claira Allen (1 point) also pitched in for Rogersville City Lady Warriors.

In the Varsity Boys game, 8th grader Cade Putnal scored 25 points to lead the Warriors in their win over Surgoinsville 50-14 on Monday.

Rogersville City Warriors rebounded the ball well, collecting 27 rebounds. Zander Harris led the team with nine rebounds. Jackson Davenport hit two threes for Rogersville City Warriors. Rogersville City Warriors pressured the ball all game, collecting 21 steals. Putnal led the team with eight steals. Also contributing for Rogersville City Warriors were Harris (8 points), Davenport (6 points), Keithan Wheeler (4 points), Baylor Hancock (3 points), Boone Matthews (2 points), and Conner Lyons (2 points). In JV Boys action, RCS bested SMS 41-18.
