Students in Ms. Kari Fields’ 6th grade career class gained valuable insights into the world of engineering from Jason Spears, a local mechanical engineer who visited the class via Zoom.
As a proud alumnus of both Volunteer High School and University of Tennessee, Jason offered students a firsthand look at the exciting opportunities in mechanical engineering. He discussed his current work in the field, the challenges and rewards of being an engineer, and the importance of education for students aspiring to make a difference in technology and innovation.
The visit concluded with a Q&A session, where students had the opportunity to ask questions and learn more about the engineer’s experiences and day-to-day work.
