Lady Warriors Head Back to State Tourney

Molli Stuffle scored 21 points to lead the RCS Lady Warriors past Ridgeview, 68-22, on Saturday. The Rogersville City Lady Warriors controlled the game from the opening tip, never giving up the advantage. 

Leading 8-2, the Lady Warriors went on a 23-point run to pull further away. The team led 49-8 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. Stuffle, who returned to play this week after an injury that sidelined her for 7 games, scored 11 points in the second quarter as RCS outscored Ridgeview 28-6.

The Lady Warriors scored at will in the paint. They went 12-23 on twos. Stuffle, Rylee Sivert, and Karlie Gray each hit multiple three-pointers for the Lady Warriors. The team shot 14-35 (40%) from beyond the arc. RCS controlled the paint, grabbing 28 rebounds. Sivert led the team with eight rebounds. The Lady Warriors passed the ball well with 21 assists on 26 made baskets. Stuffle led the team with five assists. The team's ball pressure forced 19 steals in the game. Kenady Deal led the team with six steals. Sivert (15 points), Gray (12 points), Deal (10 points), Harlen Hayes (7 points), and Tinsley Gladson (3 points) helped out Rogersville City Lady Warriors as well.

The win sends the Lady Warriors back to the TMSAA Single A State Tournament for the third year in a row. RCS is striving for a repeat of last year's State Championship win. The tournament will be held i Smyrna, TN and runs February 14 and 15. They'll face Moore County at 8:00 p.m. (CST) on February 14 at Stewarts Creek High School.
