Lady Warriors Poised to Make History (Again)
Jennifer Ewing

The RCS Lady Warriors handed Ridgeview just their second loss of the year in today's Section 1 Championship, 49-31, to be crowned Section 1 Champs. Tournament MVP Kenady Deal scored 17 points in the win. The Lady Warriors had a strong first half, leading 23-9 at halftime and never looked back, securing the victory. They played stifling defense, blocking four shots and grabbing 14 steals. RCS rebounded the ball well, collecting 25 rebounds. Chloe Pearson led the team with six rebounds. Additional scorers for Rogersville City included Molli Stuffle (10 points), Rylee Sivert (7 points), Karlie Gray (7 points), Addie Lawson (4 points), and Pearson (4 points).

The win propels RCS back to the TMSAA State Basketball Championship for the second year in a row. Last year's first ever appearance in the tourney was itself historic for RCS, but the tough loss in the state championship game has never been far from Coach Latosha Jackson's mind. Now the Lady Warriors are hoping make history once again by returning as Class A Girls Basketball State Champions.

"We're going with a different look in our eye. We're going to win it all with a bit of revenge on our mind. Our goal this year since Day 1 has been #onegoal and that's to win State".

RCS will play Homestead Elementary this Friday at 5:00 p.m. (CDT) at Rockvale High in Smyrna, TN. The school will host a watch party again this year. Full details about the watch party will be posted later this week.
